One of the essential storage unit packing tips is to prioritize which items of yours will go into your storage space. Gather them all together in one area so you can see what you’re working with. Once you’ve done that, you really should organize the items into groups such as: fragile, heavy, items you’ll need to access regularly.

Now that you know what you’re going to store, you’ll have a better idea of what size unit you’ll need. Vista Storage has units that will suit any needs. If you only have a few items, a small 5’x5’ space might suffice. But, if you’re going to be storing large quantities of items, you can get a space up to 10’x30’ that will hold it all.

Another one of out tips for storage units is to pack small items that are similar into boxes so that they can be stacked inside your unit. Be sure to label, label, label! This will ensure that the truck is evenly balanced and make your trip to Vista Storage a safe one. Remember this storage unit packing tip: try to pack the truck from the bottom up…in other words, you don’t want to make tall stacks that are unsupported. If you do, you run the risk of having your items crash and break during transit.

Put your fragile items on top of heavier items and the items that you’ll need to access frequently in the front of your unit.
